Upgrade your batteries to Battle Born Lithium
How many Battle Born Lithium Batteries do you have?
We have six, 100 amp hour batteries
What did they cost?
We paid almost $6000.
Do you need solar panels to charge them?
Solar panels are not required. But you will need a way to charge them. You can use a generator, shore power, or solar panels.
What do your lithium batteries power?
Anything that runs through the inverter including the coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave, lights, TVs, instant pot, hairdryer, and most outlets throughout the RV. They will not run our AC’s because they are not run through the inverter even though they can power them.
Did you have to change the battery cable size?
No. The cables are the same size, 4/0. We made new cables so they would be a perfect fit.
Did you INSTALL a new inverter?
Yes. We upgraded from a 2000w Magnum Energy Inverter to a 3000w Hybrid Magnum Energy Inverter.
Why did you upgrade to lithium batteries?
We had four lead-acid batteries that we could only use 50% of their capacity. They also required checking the water level once a month. Our lithium batteries are maintenance-free, and we could use 100% of their capacity, essentially providing much more power. We wanted to be able to run any of our appliances while dry camping whenever we wanted!
Did you do the install or was it professionally installed?
Phil installed the batteries with the help of Lance from Wheelin with the Wendes. Although, Lance is technically not a professional this install is a professional job! We could not have done it without his help. You can see the full install below.
How long will the batteries last?
It depends on how much power you are drawing.
Do you still need a generator?
Yes. On rainy or cloudy days, we can not harvest power with our solar we may need the generator. Also, sometimes we run our generator for the A/Cs.
Can you drain Battleborn Lithium to zero?
Absolutely!
